Mark Stafford, M.D.
Dr. Stafford is an Associate Professor of Medicine with the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His primary interest is teaching, with emphasis on physician-patient communications. He has dedicated his practice as a physician to helping patients assess and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Stafford is board certified in internal medicine. He received his medical degree from UAB. After 10 years of private practice in Dothan, Alabama, he returned to UAB as an instructor in the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Stafford’s expert medical knowledge is valuable in many areas, including:

Michael D. Hogue, PharmD
Dr. Hogue is the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and an Associate Professor at McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Hogue’s multi-faceted background has been instrumental in our pharmaceutical evaluations and consultation with clients. He has owned his own pharmacy, run an in-house pharmacy clinic for a Fortune 100 company and worked with a large pharmacy benefit management firm before taking his current position at Samford University. His insight into the pharmacy world and his ability to apply that experience to any employer’s situation has been most helpful to us and our clients.

Joshua C. Klapow, PhD.
Joshua C. Klapow, a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Care Organization and Policy (School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham). Dr. Klapow’s research focuses on the role of behavioral science in health care delivery systems. Dr. Klapow’s work examines delivery system design and its impact on the management of chronic illness, the role of provider behavior in disease prevention and management, and the role of psychosocial and behavioral factors in determining health outcomes. He is the author of more than 100 professional articles, abstracts, and book chapters in the area of behavioral medicine and health psychology. Dr. Klapow has served as a chronic conditions and behavioral science consultant for a number of organizations. He is a contributor to a variety of national media and print outlets including: Self, Men’s Health, Women’s Day, Women’s Health, Redbook, Prevention, Shape, Fitness and Incentive Magazine.

Dr. Klapow’s extensive knowledge and unique perspective as a behavioral psychologist are valuable in many areas, including:

  • Analysis of existing wellness and disease management programs
  • Providing insight regarding an individual’s perception of health care plan design
  • Designing incentive rewards programs that motivate behavioral change
  • Creating a corporate culture to support healthy initiatives
  • Introduction of outside experts
